Title: Star-Crossed Egg Tarts

Author: Jennifer J. Chow

Genre: Cozy mystery, mystery, magic

Felicity Jin is asked to cater the Lum-Wu wedding. Her friend, and florist, Kelvin Love, is also one of the vendors. When it's time to cut the cake, er, rather the egg tarts as requested by the happy couple, Felicity discovers the missing groomsman is under the table - dead! At first, the blame is placed on Kelvin, based on how the man was killed, and it's not long before Felicity is on the case!

As Felicity, with help from Kelvin, dig deeper into who killed the groomsman, their relationship also begins to change. And as an added twist, Felicity's father, who disappeared out of her life when she was an infant, is introduced. While she is dealing with that relationship, an attempt is made on the groom's life as well! The clock ticks as Felicity gets closer to discovering the killer. But can she solve the mystery in time?

The author mixes Asian and American cultures, along with magic and mystery to create a delightful story that this reader could not put down! Thank you to NetGalley, Minotaur Books, and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy of the book!
